OEA-Retired – Action Response Teams:
The Action Response Team (ART) Member position is created to help assist OEA-Retired Districts with membership engagement, civic engagement, and supporting active locals. OEA-Retired believes that engaging potential members and supporting OEA-R activists will lead to increase in membership and situate OEA-Retired as a leading voice for education retirement issues.
There will be ARTeams in every OEA-Retired District and will comprise of 5-10 members.
Do these things interest you? You will:
- Help recruit, engage, and retain potential OEA-Retired members.
- Participate in civic engagement activities on public education and retirement security issues.
- Mentoring opportunities with active educators.
- Participating in social activities with other OEA-Retired activists.
- Assist in promoting NEA Member Benefits program.
- Support OEA active locals.
What we are looking for:
- A diverse team with passion for advocating for public education, active, and retired educators.
- Excited to engage potential leaders/ activists and educate about benefits of OEA-Retired.
- A clear and effective communicator.
- Proficient in computer skills.
- A willingness to travel for meetings.
- Time commitment (approximate): a quarterly ART meeting, District meetings and activities, day and half training on June 21-22, 2023, and one day OEA-Retired retreat in August 2023.
- Commitment to a minimum two years.
